Rae-ann Smith is a Lecturer and is completing a PhD in Communication Studies at the Caribbean School of Media and Communication (CARIMAC), The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona Campus, executing a practice-based research project that experiments with film narrative structure.
Rae-ann is a filmmaker, scholar, and educator from Trinidad and Tobago, based in Jamaica. She makes films rooted in the Caribbean, teach filmmaking at UWI Mona, and is pursuing a PhD exploring calypso as a narrative structure for Caribbean film. Fulbright Scholar. MFA, Chapman University.
